Game Night & Scout Sunday

A night of B-Ball to X-Box and all games in between!

We all had a blast swimming at Sahara Sam's Oasis in the afternoon.

Our leaders even had a good time scaring the lifeguards who were catching tubes!

The home-made pizza was fun for dinner and we played games at the parish center (projected on the wall life size) late into the night!

Breakfast wasn't the best the home-made poptarts didn't come together as good as expected  (you can't win them all) - Pop tart crumble   :/

Finaly we joined with the Pack for Scout Sunday at St Agnes Church.

Peace-Light 2015

For over a thousand years lamps have been continuously lit in the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem Israel.  For the last 22 years, a child from Upper Austria has lit two blast proof miner’s lamps from a grotto lamp. The lamps are then carried on an Austrian Airlines jet from Tel Aviv Israel to Vienna Austria from where the Peace Light is distributed at a Service of Dedication to delegations from across Europe who take it back, with a message of Peace, to their own countries.  The light is then flown from Vienna to New York City.   Scout Leaders light their miner’s lamps in New York and spread out across the United States and Canada to share the Peace Light. http://www.peacelight.org/ or www.bsainternationalpeacelightusa.org

White Horse District Centennial Camporee!

On the waterfront in Camden...

Our Troop, Crew, and Pack participated in the District Centenial Camporee.  This event was the premier Scouting 100th Anniversary Celebration event in all of New Jersey.   It utilized the many waterfront attractions, demonstrations by various law enforcement and safety agencies, entertainment, as well as hands-on activities for Scouts of all ages.

We camped at Campbell's Field for two nights.  (we are the straight line of green tents in left field)

Some of the boys hiked across the Ben Franklin  Bridge to visit the Constitution center and work on their Citizenship in the Nation merit badge.

There where emergency vehicles of alltypes a fire boat, helocopters, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars.

Everyone had a great time!

Rafting Trip

Rafting the Lehigh River!

On our June trip We rafted the Lehigh River near Jim Thorpe, PA.  We tent camped at Hickory Run State park

The Rafting was great!  The riverguides at Pocono Whitewater were excelent!  they taught us proper safety for rafting and made sure each raft had a good time!

The State Park was beautiful.  The wildlife at the camp was spectacular (especialy the fawn that visited our campsite at breakfast).   We didn't see any bear but we did learn and practice bear safety ("smellables" and the "Bearmuda" Triangle).

Everyone agreed we need to do this again!

Sunset Parade
Our Troop participated in the May 30th Sunset Parade at the Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May.
Sunset Parades are colorful, inspiring military ceremonies featuring the Recruit Band, Drill Team, marching troops, cannon fire, and a low level fly over by a CG helicopter.  We will also had a tour of the Training Center and TRACEN company commanders gave us a mini-boot camp training session that will included military drill.   It was a great day!
Thank You to all of the men and women who are serving or have served this country we all love.

Ressica Falls Rocked!

March 26-28  Camping in the Unami Lodge at Ressica Falls was one of the best trips yet.  We went Hiking, playing football, shot on the rifle range, had a campfire, and played jailbreak!

Scout Vesper

Tune: "Tannenbaum"

Softly falls the light of day,
While our campfire fades away.
Silently each scout should ask:
"Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless sleep tonight?

Have I done and have I dared
Everything to be prepared.?"
